How can you meet Pagans in your area? You probably think that there aren't any. Well you'd be surprised that there are quite a few groups, in MD, VA, and DC. These groups are scattered around the web and hard to locate. It is my mission to collect this information and host it here. Many of the sites that contain posted events are added to my
calendar page. If you would like to be added, or would like to discuss anything on this site please feel free to email me.

National Sites

The Witch's Voice
An international wide web organization. Contains current news (not urban myths) in the Pagan community. This site contains excellent articles on current topics and debates as well as basic primer material on learning the craft. There is an vary large Pagan directory listed by state and city. There is also a large area devoted to teens.

Cauldrons and Broomsticks Ezine
This is a web magazine published every pagan holiday. I'm really impressed at how much it has expanded in the past year. Full of holdiay recipes, stories, personal prespectives and information on Goddess and Gods for a particular holidays of the year.

Full Circle Unitarian CUUPS Chapter Universalist Church of Annapolis
I am a member of this group and it is very enjoyable. It is a participatory, experiential, spiritual program integrating a variety of earth-centered traditions with Unitarian Universalist principles.  Full Moon Circles for women, Sun Celebrations for all ages all genders.  See website for dates and times.

Cedarlight Grove, ADF
A local Baltimore, MD grove of ArnDraíocht Fein, the national druid fellowship founded by Isaac Bonewits and others in the early eighties. This group has an
egroup list, open circles, events, chakra and meditation classes, as well as a FREE Reiki Clinic.

The Magpies
A pagan discussion group based in
Baltimore, MD, meeting every other Sunday. Dedicated to joining pagan and pagan-friendly folk in a casual, open discussion environment.

Coven DragonVeil
is a
British-American Traditional Coven which embraces the 1734 Tradition, working with Celtic Deities, and various British Traditionalist tenets. We are a very traditional, Oathbound, highly conservative (relative to other covens) group of like-minded people, focused on internal growth and evolution. We value honor, ethics and integrity in our students and Initiates. Currently seeking students (3/02).

Carroll County MD Adult Pagan Community
Although other major pagan groups had already been well established in the
Washington D.C./Baltmore MD area, it was found that the pagan family community had no nitch in the immediate vicinity of Carroll County. The Carroll County MD Adult Pagan Community provides social outlets for adults following the right handed path. We are in our growing stages presently, but intend to have year round functions for area pagans and their families. We are also dedicated in finding ways to offer service to our community and our Blessed Mother Earth.

Spiral Scouts (Children's Group)
Baltimore Community interested in starting a chapter of national acredited
Spiral Scouts. The Druids of Cedar Light Grove have very kindly agreed to provide space for meetings. If you are interested in an opportunity for your child of minority faith (such as Wicca, Druid, Pagan, etc.) to interact with other children of minority faiths, Spiral Scouts may be your answer. Spiral Scouts is loosely based on the "traditional" scouting organizations, but has been designed specifically with our children in mind. Norfolk


Pagan Resource Center

Their website has an extensive orgainzed web links. Some of their accomplishments include : operating one of the largest Pagan mailing lists in the country (over 5000 addresses), publishing a newsletter (The Witch Tower), sponsoring a Spring and Fall event (Gathering of the Tribes see
calendar), and participate in various other Festivals and Events. Appears to be an excellent pagan resource located in Norfolk, VA.


Northern Virginia

Sisters of the Silver Branch
A women's study & ritual circle in Northern Virginia/DC area. Focus on Irish,
British mysteries and Goddess oriented (none exclusively). (mdpagans.com)

Sisters of the Burning Branch, Order of the White Moon.

This is an online course focused on feminine centered spirituality. The list hosts a great bunch of women studying the Goddess path, and the homework is enjoyable but quite thorough. Many of the women are from the VA & DC area, but there are quite a few scattered through the USA and one from overseas! The Order of the White Moon, which is where Sisters has hived from, hosts both male and female members.

Largest body of the OTO in the Mid Atlantic, lots of OTO (Ordo Templi Orientis) info. Located in DC. Aleister Crowley is one of their prophets and his works are studied.

The Open Hearth Foundation, Inc. (OHF)
Alexandria, VA. The OHF was organized for the sole purpose of creating gathering space and resources for Pagans of all paths. Specifically, the OHF establishes and operates Pagan community centers. This includes managing a capital drive campaign, seeking community advice, encouraging community networking, and operating center facilities and programs. Started by a personal friend of mine, this is a really cool project in its newborn stages still. See web page for posted events

This site has a great search engine. A global network of local resources, Community Hearth is a free online service of The Open Hearth Foundation, Inc. (OHF). The OHF works to provide gathering space and resources for Pagans of all paths.

Hellenotamiai
Formerly named the Hellenic Polytheist Reconstructionist's, this is an egroups local list for
Washington DC metropolitan area (southern Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia). Now forming in physical space, this group worships the ancient Hellenic deities in the ancient ways as near as possible.

The Witches Voice is an excellent website for national news, and pagan opionions across the nation. They host regional information for events, stores and personal web sites that is quite extentsive.
